Analysis/Testing

  • THE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT TO ANALYZE AND TEST PRODUCTS

    Micrometer and Clamp

From prototype to production, we have the tools and equipment to analyze and test products anywhere along the way. This analysis and testing process allows us to predict failures and focus on the strength of our designs – helping us compress development time and save costs.

As product engineering professionals, we focus on infinitesimal details, from small components to tolerances within thousandths of an inch. Our engineering test lab is crucial to test concepts and determine their validity. The lab includes an array of microscopes and an Optical Comparator to make this tiny world more accessible. We also utilize equipment to test and confirm material properties, as well as, product performance criteria. These results are then benchmarked for later design consulting phases.

If a defect or design flaw is identified, it is not enough to simply fix it and move on. A methodical approach is required to isolate variables and determine root causes. The only effective way to identify the problem and perform the proper fix is through careful evaluation of the system for incorrect parts, incorrect material properties or unexpected design flaws. That’s why we utilize the right tools in our test lab. We sweat the details throughout the process to ensure the right fit and function.

    ETL AND UL CERTIFICATION FILING

UL MarkWe will help you obtain ETL or UL Certification for both the U.S and Canada, if required. This certification assures your customers that your product is manufactured to exacting and safe standards.

ETL MarkUL Certification and ETL Certification “demonstrates compliance to the requirements of widely accepted product safety standards” and both are accredited by the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (which is part of OSHA). In passing UL / ETL tests, your product is certified to meet rigorous standards for electrical safety and electromagnetic emissions.

The UL and ETL certification marks indicate the product has been tested and

    • has met the minimum requirements of a widely recognized U.S. product safety standard.
    • the manufacturing site has been audited.
    • the applicant has agreed to a program of periodic factory follow-up inspections to verify continued conformance.

    CE Marking

    CE Mark

The European Commission describes the CE mark as a "passport" that allows manufacturers to circulate industrial products freely within European Common Market (EU) – a total of 30 countries. All manufacturers in the EU and abroad must affix the CE mark to those products covered by the "New Approach" directives in order to market their products in Europe. Once a product receives the CE mark, it can be marketed throughout the EU without undergoing further product modification.

    The CE Marking on a product is a manufacturer's declaration that the product;

    • complies with the essential requirements of the relevant European health, safety and environmental protection legislations.
    • may be legally placed on the market in their country.
    • ensures the free movement of the product within the EFTA and EU.
    • permits the withdrawal of non-conforming products by customs and enforcement/vigilance authorities.

    IP TESTING (INGRESS PROTECTION)

AVERE 4UV Tested for IP65 Rating

We will guide your product through the process of obtaining an IP rating, if required. The testing will assess the protection of your product against ingress of solid bodies and/or liquids, varying over differing degrees of protection, depending upon the requirements you place on your product. The effects of this exposure on your product will be measured, and the product will be given an appropriate IP rating.

The level of protection of a product is signified by a number (i.e. IP67) where the first number is the ingress protection against solid bodies, and the second number is protection against liquids. Review the IP Ratings Reference Chart for the available variations.
